Description
C++ Programming Made Simple is a straight forward presentation of how to write computer programs in the ANSI C++ Language. It is deliberately light in tone, avoids as far as possible the more complicated parts of the C++ Language and concentrates on getting aspiring C++ programmers up to speed in the shortest possible time. This book is suitable as an introductory guide for beginning C++ programmers and for students taking a programming course. Particularly with the latter group in mind, C++ Programming Made Simple presents, in exercise form with answers, more than 30 complete, no-trivial and useful programs. The book covers all the essentials of C++ but does not deal with the 'dark corners' of the language - for example, all the details of variable assignment and initialisation. It is not intended for experienced C++ programmers other than as a general introductory reference, or for compiler writers at all. For such readers, please refer to the "Newnes C++ Pocket book" (Second Edition) by the same author, published by Butterworth-Heinemann. The main objective of this book is to help you get the most results possible as quickly as possible and for the minimum effort expended. The book is aimed more at the novice programmer rather than the expert. The author has made the tone of the book correspondingly light and its prose correspondingly simple, while hitting all the important points. The author has not, with this book, preceded the treatment of C++ with an introduction to the C subset - that would be beyond the scope of a book of this size. If you don't know at least the rudiments of C, stop now, buy and read the introductory text in this series, C Made Simple. - from Amzon
